AUBURNDALE, FL – Roland V. Kinney, 77, passed away peacefully August 24, 2014 at the Good Shepard Hospice House in Auburndale, a place of his wishes. He was born April 18, 1937, in Mars Hill, ME, son of Burnes and Laura (Brewer) Kinney.
Roland was employed by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, in Southington, CT, Retiring after 23 years in 1992. He then moved to Haines City, FL, where he was happy surrounded with family and very specials friends. Roland and his wife had many good times together, and were each other’s best friends. In his spare time, he fished the lake where he lived with his boys and special neighbors, enjoying every minute of it till it was dark or more if they would stay with him. He and his wife had a small dog, “Bandit”, from 2003-2013, which was their friend. Bandit loved his “grampy” & “grammy”, he was special and is missed. His wife hopes they are happy together.
He is survived by his wife, June (Belyea) Kinney of Auburndale, Fl; children, Blair of Auburndale, FL, Brian of Caribou, ME, Carla Waugh of Caribou, ME, and Colleen of Canada; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two uncles of Mars Hill, Phillip and his wife, Eva Kinney, and Wallace Brewer of Mars Hill; one special cousin, Elizabeth (Kinney) Golder of Bristol, CT; a “special” niece, Anna Rose Beresford of New Britain, CT; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Peter and Eileen Beresford of New Britain, CT.
Cremation will be in Haines City, FL. No service is planned.
