Gary and Vaughn Wyman, sons of the late Roy and Jennie Wyman of Caribou, were inducted into the Sons of the American Revolution Society (SARS) on Sept. 20, in St. Petersburg, Florida. According to the SARS website, the Sons of the American Revolution is the leading male lineage society that perpetuates the ideals of the war for independence. Through email, Gary explained that members of SAR must prove their family lineage between 1775 and 1779 by presenting documents clearly stating their involvement in the war for independence to the society at the local, state and national level prior to induction. Pictured here during the Sept. 20 ceremony were, from left, Gary Wyman, guest speaker “Thomas Jefferson,” who spoke on his document the Declaration of Independence, and Vaughn Wyman.
