County Gospel Festival serves as fund-raiser for schools

Plans are now well under way for the 6th annual County Gospel Music Festival, July 11, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Farm Park in Fort Fairfield.

For those who may be reading about the Festival for the first time, we’d like to share with you our Mission Statement: “Our mission is simple, to bring the Word of God through Gospel music to as many people as possible. This festival is an outreach, intended to encourage the faith of believers and to bring the message of Jesus Christ to those who are not yet believers.”
The Gospel Festival is a full day of gospel music in an outdoor, yet covered, setting. Our venue is Farm Park in Fort Fairfield, home to the County Bluegrass Festival. The Park provides a large pole barn for undercover seating, plenty of room for fresh-air seating outside the pole barn, picnic tables for bring-your-own lunch, as well as public bathrooms for your convenience. There will also be food vendors on site for those who would like to purchase lunch.
This year’s gospel music lineup will include: Golden Harmony and Higher Ground, from New Brunswick; Common Ground and Heart of Praise, from the Houlton area; Covenant Sons, from Oakfield; The Campbells, from Manchester; The Kinney Trio, The LaClaires, The Denny Family, Glorybound, Mark Murchison, and a Tribute to Diane Muise. All these folks are tentatively scheduled to join us and will provide a full day of awesome music. You won’t want to miss a single minute. A complete schedule for the day will be posted very soon on our Web site: www.countygospel.com.
A significant change has been made to our ministry this year; there will be no admission fee. We are seeking sponsors to cover our costs for entertainment and advertising, etc. We will plan to take a free-will offering during the festival and all profits from this offering (after any remaining expenses are covered) will be donated to Cornerstone Christian Academy and Greater Houlton Christian Academy. So, not only will you enjoy a day of music you will not soon forget, but you can play a part in building up and blessing two fine Christian schools in Aroostook County.
If you or anyone you know would like to be a sponsor for the County Gospel Festival, you may contact Nancy Rogeski at 473-7749. The more sponsors we have, the more of the offering will go directly to the schools. It is our goal to cover all expenses before the festival even starts so that we can really bless these schools. If you’d like to be a part of this, we’d love to hear from you.
Mark your calendar for Saturday, July 11. Remember, the concert is held in a covered area, so please come rain or shine. And don’t forget your lawn chairs.
