LIMESTONE, Maine — Officials with the Loring Job Corps Center have announced Andrew Hopkins as the Star Student of the Quarter. Hopkins joined the Loring team from Newburgh, N.Y. in April 2014. Since his arrival he has proven that he is a goal-oriented young man with a desire to not only better himself but everyone around him.

“The center is proud of Andrew and his accomplishments on and off Center,” said Loring’s business community liason Roger Felix. “His dedication assists the staff in its continued efforts to train tomorrow’s work force. Andrew is currently in the Truck Driving Program (CDL) where he’s quickly mastering his trade, receiving praise from classmates and instructors alike. Everyone who has met Andrew would agree that his work ethic is by far one of the best the Center has seen in years, and his can-do attitude is contagious, making him a leader on and off Center.”
Hopkins often can be found assisting his fellow students on a daily basis though positive motivation and showing them what right looks like. He can be counted on to get the job done and has the ability to overcome complex tasks with minimum effort. Hopkins leads from the front at every opportunity and will truly be an asset to any organization.
Hopkins’ goal is to complete the CDL program at Loring, attend the Job Corps advanced training program for locomotive engineering with the ultimate goal of becoming a train engineer for the CSX company. Hopkins would like to thank the staff and students at Loring Job Corps for selecting him for the prestigious title and would like everyone to know that they all have the capability to become successful, and that a positive attitude is key to solving any problem.
