    Caribou & Portland – Ryan Douglas Bossie, 27, died January 30, 2015, in Portland after losing a hard-fought battle with addiction. He was born in Ft. Myers, Florida, on May 5, 1988, as the son of Rick and Malene (Doody) Bossie.
    Ryan attended Caribou High School and Northern Maine Community College and was known as a charming, curious, hardworking, and resourceful person by many. He enjoyed skateboarding, snowboarding, hiking, gardening, fishing, participating in moose hunts, and “chillin’” with his family and friends. Ryan was a member of Holy Rosary Church. He worked to gain a better understanding of his place in the world, seeking a stronger relationship with his higher power. He was employed by area property maintenance companies, most recently helping Brenda Norris and her family remodel their Portland home.
    He is survived by his mother of Portland, his father of Caribou, one brother, Andrew Bossie and his partner Gary Wagner of Portland, his sister, Kaitlyn Umphrey and her husband Jim of Wade, and a stepbrother Daniel Rush of Florida. Ryan is also survived by his grandmother, Therese Bossie of Caribou; aunts and uncles, Gayle Smart, Sharon Olmstead, Craig Bossie and his wife Cheryl, Rodney Doody and his wife Julie, Doug Doody, Dean Doody and wife Robin, Mark Doody; and numerous cousins. He was predeceased by grandparents, Camille Bossie as well as Malen and Jane Doody.
    Friends visited with the family from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 9:00 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 2015 from the Parish of the Precious Blood Holy Rosary Catholic Church. www.mocklerfuneralhome.com.
