In January, the Caribou Bread of Life Soup Kitchen kicked off their 2015 fund raising with a letter writing campaign; area organizations have or will hear from the soup kitchen in the coming weeks with a description of their mission, needs and goals for 2015. On Feb. 18, the Post 9389 VFW Ladies Auxiliary were among the first to answer the soup kitchen’s call as they joined officials at the Caribou Bread of Life Kitchen for Dinner. Ken Murchison, the 2015 Soup Kitchen Board Chair, welcomed Ladies Auxiliary members and gave a brief overview of the kitchen, its mission and the aspirations of board members. Roast turkey and all the fixings were served and culminating the evening, the Ladies presented representatives of the Soup Kitchen a check for $500. Together with the Post 9389 VFW contribution, a total of $600 was contributed. Soup Kitchen officials extended a sincere and heartfelt “thank-you” to the Ladies Auxiliary for a great night of fellowship and their very generous donation.
