FORT FAIRFIELD, Maine — The Northern Maine Community Recreation Association held its Aroostook County Youth Girls Basketball Tournament for grades 4-6 Saturday at the Fort Fairfield Community Center.
The host Fort Fairfield squad won the seven-team tourney, defeating Washburn in the championship game by a score of 21-18.
Brenna LeVasseur led the winners with six points, with Rachel Milliard contributing five and Camryn Ala four. Delaney St. Pierre added three and Kira Rogers two.
Kyli Farley was high scorer for Washburn with nine points, followed by Bri Turner with seven and Janelle Doak with two.
Fort Fairfield defeated Presque Isle in the semifinal round by a score of 25-16, while Washburn defeated Ashland, 16-13.
Caribou, Mars Hill and Van Buren were the other teams participating.
The all-tournament team included Milliard, Ala and Farley, along with Meg Casavant of Presque Isle and Ava Cameron of Ashland.
