WOODLAND, Maine — The Woodland selectpeople met with townspeople on March 17 for a town meeting at the Woodland school.
Residents of Woodland voted on a series of articles outlined in the 2015 annual report for the town of Woodland. Harold Tardy was the moderator and 29 registered voters were there along with a few non-residents.

The town of Woodland will attempt to raise $129,850 for general government, as well as $322,700 for their public works/highway department.
Townspeople voted to raise funds for emergency services; $13,646 for ambulance services and $59,405 for fire protection. Both services are provided by the city of Caribou.
There was some concern on article 18, a vote to raise $45,000 to be used for solid waste disposal. After some discussion, the town managed to pass article 18. Solid waste services are provided by Tri-Community Landfill.
Selectpeople were unsure if article 31 would pass, to see if the town of Woodland will pay a $1,860 bill submitted to the town by Gerald Anderson for replacing damaged trees at the Woodland Cemetery, but the townspeople voted and the matter was carried.
Anderson claimed trees he planted on cemetery property died as a result of snow mixed with road salt which was plowed over the property line near the trees. He sent the town of Woodland a bill for use of his equipment and labor to save the trees.
After passing article 35 the town approved to perform maintenance on a portion of the Lufkin Road beginning at the Woodland Center Road. The remainder of the Lufkin Road through the Davis Road is a public way but will not be maintained by the town.
All articles were carried with brief discussions throughout the meeting. Thomas Drew was reelected for the board of selectmen and Connie Berube-Berry and Peter McCorison were elected to the Woodland school board.
