Josie is a very light colored calico 8-month-old spayed female living at the Halfway Home Pet Rescue Adoption Center. She came in as a feral to tame and be allowed for adoption. Though the patience and loving care of HHPR volunteers, Josie has now made up her mind that most humans are just fine. Volunteers say that Josie is clean about her space, friendly and very loving once she becomes familiar of you. “Josie will be a nice family member to most family situations excepting dogs or small children who still scare her,” said HHPR President Norma Milton. Call 999-1075 for more information about adoption. HHPR will be traveling a group of kittens and cat downstate to their partners in Portland on April 9. They have room for three or four more carriers with kittens or young adults; call 999-1075 for help with finding a new home for a cat or litter of cats, but Milton advised that the rescue needs to obtain the animals no later than April 6 “so that we can get them vaccinated, cleaned of all parasites and test their personality for friendliness,” Milton explained.
The big end of season sale at Second Chance will continue for the next two weekends. All winter boots are only $1. Big bag sale on clothing with a large batch of infant and toddler clothing. HHPR volunteers are still trapping a feral cat colony on Veronica Street in Caribou; cat owners in that area are asked to keep their cats inside during the next 10 days. Should owners think their cat is missing, please check with the pet rescue.
