Ways to report on high school games

With the 2015 spring season officially under way, it is crucial for local baseball, softball, track and field and tennis coaches to report their results to the newspaper in a timely fashion.

The newspaper strives to cover several events throughout the week, but with so many teams covering such a vast geographic area, it is impossible to be at every home game. Therefore, we ask area coaches (or managers) to send in their game/meet results as soon as possible after each contest, regardless of if they play at home or on the road.
There are a number of ways coaches can submit their information.
Coaches may also e-mail articles or scoresheets. This is the best way to get information to the sports department. Information can be e-mailed to republican@nepublish.com.
Game results may be also be phoned in to the Aroostook Republican and News (496-3251) or faxed to the newspaper (492-4351).
When submitting baseball/softball results, coaches should include the following information: date the game was played; final score; pitching statistics for both teams (including how many innings the pitcher went as well as how many runs, hits walks and strikeouts they recorded); who got hits for both teams; who scored runs and recorded RBIs for both teams; and coach’s comments on how the game went.
For tennis, coaches should submit individual results, including any exhibition matches played, as well as comments on how the match went. For track and field, coaches should submit the full results and include any comments.
