CARIBOU – Rita T. LaChance, 85, died April 16, 2015 at her Caribou residence. She was born in Fort Fairfield March 1, 1930, the daughter of the late James and Matilda (Labrie) Cyr.
She was a 1949 graduate of Caribou High School and on October 31, 1953, she married Samuel LaChance Sr. Mrs. LaChance was a longtime faithful member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Surviving in addition to her husband of over 61 years, Samuel of Caribou, are her son and daughter-in-law, Samuel and Kathleen LaChance, Jr. of Presque Isle; her brother and sister-in-law, James and Sylvia Cyr of Bangor; one grandson, Kemuel LaChance of Presque Isle; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. LaChance was pre-deceased by a grandson, Tristan.
Friends called at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou 6-8 p.m. Sunday. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 11 a.m. Monday April 20, 2015, from the Parish of the Precious Blood Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Following the service, a time of continued fellowship and refreshments was held at the parish center. www.mocklerfuneralhome.com
