CARIBOU – Frances A. Whitmore, 92, passed away May 1, 2015, at Caribou with her family by her side. She was born in Patten on March 18, 1923, the daughter of the late Herbert and Nellie (Cochrane) Swazey.
Shortly after her birth, the family moved to Tilley, N.B., Canada, where Frances grew up. She moved to Caribou after marrying her husband, Colby Whitmore.
Mrs. Whitmore is survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Rufus Pelkey of Aroostook, N.B, and one brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Clara Swazey of Wilson, NY; two stepdaughters, Geraldine Dubay of Delavan, NY, and Betty Holdsworth of Caribou; one daughter-in-law, Deanna Whitmore of Bar Harbor; several step-grand-children; many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Whitmore was pre-deceased by her husband, Colby, two sisters, Alice Pelkey and Phyllis Abel; four brothers, Herbert, John, Glen and Allison Swazey.
