Four youth drew drug-related charges last Sunday following a search in a Caribou parking lot.
Caribou Police Chief Michael Gahagan said on Sunday, May 3, just after 7 p.m., the department received information that people were gathered in a local business’ parking lot smoking marijuana. Officer Douglas Bell responded and located several people standing in the parking lot and a strong odor of marijuana.
After a search was conducted of two vehicles, Officer Bell seized 80 grams of marijuana with a street value of $800, pipes, scales, grinders, other paraphernalia and cash.
Gahagan said three juveniles, all from Washburn, were charged with trafficking in marijuana, possession of a usable amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. In addition, Timothy Fogg, 25, of Dover-Foxcroft, was charged with possession of a usable amount of marijuana.
All information was forwarded to the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.
“The Caribou Police Department would like to thank the public for their help in this investigation,” the chief said. “Without this information we would not have been able to apprehend drug dealers in our community.”
