It was a quiet week for the Caribou tennis teams, whose only completed match was played at home Thursday against Madawaska.
Both Viking squads earned 5-0 victories. The boys are now 5-0 after Michael Marquis, Brendan Cyr and Ethan Plourde failed to drop a single game in singles, while the duos of Alec Cyr-Austin Scott and Austin Cheplic-Emerson Duplissie-Cyr also easily prevailed.
The Caribou girls moved to 4-1 and increased their winning streak to four as Gabrielle Marquis and Conner Spencer shut out their opponents in singles and Makayla Bouchard won on a forfeit.
Ashley Matlock and Ciara Richards secured a shutout victory in No. 1 doubles, while Danielle Hanson and Taylor Fournier-Belanger also prevailed 8-0.
The teams began their home matches against John Bapst Saturday, but they were suspended due to rain. They will continue on May 23 following Caribou’s already scheduled match at Old Town.
The Vikings host Houlton today and Fort Kent Thursday. On Saturday, the regional singles tournament will take place at Caribou.
