Concert to benefit Caribou VFW

CARIBOU, Maine — The Aroostook River Voices, a 100-member community chorus from Ashland, will perform a benefit concert Saturday, May 30, at the Caribou Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m.

The Caribou Veterans of Foreign Wars are in need of some additional funding to make improvements at the Veterans Memorial near the Nylander Museum. The choral group agreed to assist in this endeavor, and donations will be accepted at the concert.
The chorus began performances in 2010 and has been known to be unique and unusual. There are as many as seven different conductors and up to 20 soloists in a given performance. Instrumental accompaniment is an integral part of each selection.
The audience can expect a wide variety of styles, including pop, rock, folk, gospel, classical, jazz and country.
All are invited to come and hear one of the largest choral groups in Maine.
