LIMESTONE & WATERVILLE – Priscilla Dean Paton, 75, passed away Friday evening, May 15, 2015, at a Caribou healthcare facility with her daughter by her side, following a period of declining health. She was born March 12, 1940, in Waterville, the daughter of James L. Jr. and Isabelle E. (Taylor) Dean.
She was a graduate of the Colburn High School, Waterville, and obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Thomas College. She had been employed as a teacher in the Central Maine Area for a number of years. She was an avid reader and greatly enjoyed knitting, especially for others.
In addition to her parents, Priscilla was predeceased by her husband and the love of her life, Dr. John Paton, on September 28, 2013. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Michael Corcoran of Canaan; one brother, James Dean III and his wife, Judy, of Perry. She also leaves behind her extended family at the Limestone Manor/Rising Hill where Priscilla received many years of exceptional care. Priscilla truly loved the staff and residents there, and they loved her dearly as well. Her family is so very thankful for these individuals making Priscilla’s final years so loving and wonderful.
A graveside service to celebrate her life will be conducted Saturday, June 6, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Pine Grove Cemetery, Grove Street, Waterville. A reception in Priscilla’s memory will be held at the home of her daughter Rebecca, 722 Main Street, Canaan, immediately following the service, all are welcomed to attend.
