Day, Robert F., 85, June 15, 2015.  Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 18 at Lancaster Morgan Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be Friday, June 19 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at the Maine Veterans Cemetery.  Arrangements by Lancaster Morgan Funeral Home, Caribou.

American Flag ColorARSH-RobertDayOBCARIBOU – Robert F. Day, 85, was promoted to Heaven June 15, 2015, at the Maine Veteran’s Home in Caribou after a brief illness. He was born in Presque Isle, June 30, 1929, the son of Roscoe and Mabel (Coffin) Day.
    Mr. Day served in the United States Army in Germany during Reconstruction. He was a lifelong member of the Disabled American Veteran’s. He attended New Brunswick Bible Institute where he met his wife of 55 years, Mary (Somers) Day. Together they served the Lord in many ways. In later years, Bob enjoyed being with his family, coffee runs to Tim Horton’s, and rooting for the Celtics.
    Mr. Day is survived by his wife, Mary; daughter, Kimberly and her husband, Rev. John Kiehn of Caribou; his grandchildren: Robert Kiehn of Calgary, Alberta; Jacob, Elyse and Kelsey Kiehn of Caribou; one brother, Clayton of Connecticut; sisters, Leila Day of Presque Isle, Ruby Day  of Guilford, Marcia Muldowney of Westbrook, and Charlene and her husband, Chester Gage of Caribou; Mary’s brother, Verne and wife, Judy Somers of Newfoundland; her sisters, Ella Takacs of Edmonton, Alberta, and Hazel and huband, John Bulman of Moncton, New Brunswick; many wonderful nieces, nephews and dear friends.
    He was predeceased by his first wife, Harriet Ambrose; infant sons, David and Nathan; infant brother, Roscoe; sisters-in-law Eileen Day, and Virginia Roberts Hannah; and brothers-in-law, Tom Muldowney, Kenneth Somers and Carl Somers.
    Bob’s family would like to especially thank Colleen Caron for her wonderful care of Bob in the last few months. We won the lottery the day you came. Thanks, too, to Hospice of Aroostook and The Maine Veteran’s Home for care that went above and beyond in Bob’s last days. It will never be forgotten.
    Friends are invited to visiting hours at Lancaster Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou, Thursday June 18, 2015, 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be Friday, June 19, 2015, 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastors Harold Sparkes and David Goupille officiating. Interment will follow at the Maine Veterans Cemetery.
    In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bob’s memory to the County Dialysis Center Capital Campaign, c/o Jason Parent, TAMC, PO Box 151, Presque Isle, ME 04769 to go towards the new center and equipment that will care for the love of his life in his absence.
