Marquis earns Citizenship Award at Caribou Middle School

Sebastian Marquis is the recipient of the 2015 Secretary of State’s Eighth-Grade Citizenship Award for Caribou Middle School and is very deserving of this recognition.

The award is presented to students throughout Maine who understand the importance of academic success and who devote time and attention to making meaningful progress. The award also serves to recognize those individuals who take responsibility for their work, and who strive to make contributions in their community.

Marquis volunteers many hours of his time to his community. This student helps with various activities at the Caribou Recreation Department; Mother/Son Dance, Father/Daughter Dance, Gingerbread House Decorating, Men’s Basketball League, sports tournaments and program registration to name a few.

He does the maintenance for the Little League and Babe Ruth fields, and helps in various capacities for Little League. He helps with ATV trails, snowmobile trails, ski sprints, voting setup and paints the trail groomer.

This student also volunteers at Heritage Days, Caribou Cares about Kids, Snowmobile Drag Races and Thursday’s on Sweden.

If you are at an event in Caribou, you’re likely to see this student helping.
