The Greater Madawaska Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a new event: the Central St. John Valley Community Wide Yard Sale, Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 1 and 2, 2015, in Grand Isle, Madawaska, Frenchville, St. Agatha and Sinclair.
Residents, non-profit organizations and businesses can host a yard/garage sale at homes or businesses and members will be included on area maps that will be provided to attendees.
Chamber Executive Director Brian Bouley said he decided to hold this first-time event after he attended similar yard sales this spring in Caribou and Presque Isle. “The amount of people that attended their events was absolutely amazing,” he said, adding people from all over Maine and especially Canada filled the streets looking for great deals, and as a result restaurants, gas stations and other stores did very well.
