Joyce Van Trump |
Joyce Sodergren Van Trump was born with her twin brother, John on a potato farm in Stockholm, Maine on August 4, 1926. She entered Heaven’s gates on April 14, 2015.
The absolute best mother and a dedicated registered nurse, Joyce gave so much to people around her. There was not a selfish bone in her body. Even when she was so ill with cancer, she was more concerned with her family’s well being than her own. Her spirit and warm, loving heart will live on in those lucky enough to have known her.
Joyce was a gifted writer and wrote a final farewell:
To my children, grandchildren, and all,
My voice has now been silenced forever
And I have moved to my home up above.
One thing I only hope you remember,
I will still shower you with love.
Don’t grieve while I am gone, Instead keep a happy heart, And sing a song.
We all will leave for a happier.
Perhaps it’s some home in outer space.
Where God will take us in his care,
No more worries, no more fears.
Where there are only kind and lovely words,
No more harshness and no more swords. Peace and love will abide As we walk safely by. God’s side. I will ask God what he can do to make me one of his angels to watch over you.
Joyce now rejoices in heaven with her husband, Edwin Albertie Van Trump III. She leaves behind her two daughters, Barbara Van Trump Wadsworth, Trish Van Trump Watson and her husband, Tom Watson; eight devoted grandchildren, Mark Charles, his wife, Elizabeth, Whitney, Rhett, Shelby, Christopher, Romney Wadsworth, Van and Hayley Watson; three great- grandsons, Lleyton, Matthew (twins) and Peter Edwin Wadsworth; and sisters, Evelyn Sodergren Moran, Sylvia Sodergren Carr; twin, John Sodergren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Stockholm. Refreshments to follow.
