CHS alumni soccer game

Caribou High School’s boys alumni soccer game will be held Monday, Aug. 17, 2015 at 6 p.m. at the high school soccer field. All former Caribou soccer players are welcome to come and play this year’s Viking team.

Basketball clinic

A boys’ basketball clinic will be held Aug. 17-21 at Caribou High School. Chris Casavant, the boys’ varsity coach at CHS, is the director. Grades 3-5 will go from 5-6:30 p.m. and grades 6-8 from 6:30-8 p.m. The cost is $25 per child. For more information, call 493-4274.

Varsity round-robin

at Presque Isle is Aug. 15

The 23rd annual Invitational Soccer Tournament will be held Saturday, Aug. 15 at the Johnson Athletic Complex in Presque Isle.

The event begins at 9 a.m. and will be played on three different fields. Signed up to compete are Ashland, Madawaska, Fort Fairfield, Fort Kent, Caribou, Van Buren and host Presque Isle.

The tourney has a round-robin format, with the top two teams advancing to the championship round, which begins at 4:35 p.m.

Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students and concessions will be available on site.

Spud Speedway results

Spud Speedway hosted races Aug. 9 and first-place winners were as follows:

Pro stock: Glenn Rasmussen, New Denmark, New Brunswick; street stock: J.R. Howlett, Presque Isle; Northern Lights: Matt Lloyd, Drummond, N.B.; Enduro: Bobby Anderson, Limestone; Senior Champ: Damian Theriault, Caribou; Junior Champ: Brayden Thibodeau, Caswell; and Kids Kart: Gage Theriault, Limestone.

A $10,000 purse will be up for grabs in the Pro stock class this Saturday at the Caribou track. Racing gets underway at 7 p.m.

Golf meeting

An organizational meeting for students interested in playing on the Caribou High School varsity golf team, as well as their parents, will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 13 in the CHS gym.
