CARIBOU, Maine — Emera Maine crews spent nearly an hour and a half restoring power to more than 1,300 customers in the Caribou and New Sweden area after an outage early Thursday afternoon.
Emera crews were unable to determine definitively why the outage occurred after it was reported at approximately 1:30 p.m., Bob Potts, spokesman for Emera, said late Thursday afternoon.
Potts said crews patrolled the lines and did a reset on the system that restored power around 2:45 p.m.
“Sometimes it is as simple as the wind bringing a power line down on a tree that touches it and then swinging it back up,” he said. “Our crews went out and searched for [the cause] but we could not find anything wrong, so they did the reset and got everything to go quickly.”
