Doris Chamberlain

 

WOODLAND – Doris H. Chamberlain, 85, died peace- fully surrounded by her family on Thursday, August 13, 2015. She was born in Woodland, the daughter of Leo and Margaret (McGlinn) Haley.

Doris met her husband, Ernest Chamberlain, in 1946, and they were married at Holy Rosary Catholic Church on September 5, 1951. They have celebrated 64 years of marriage together.

Doris was a school teacher for 42 years in the Caribou School Department and was a memberofbothDeltaKappa Gamma and Aroostook Retired Teachers. The highlight of her retirement years was spending time with her husband, family, and friends.

Doris is survived by her hus- band, Ernest of Woodland; her daughter, Ann Jepson of Woodland; her grandchildren, Derek Jepson of Caribou, Haley (Jepson) Powers and her hus- band, Brian of Caribou, Arik Jepson and his fiancée, Katie Ouellette of Caribou, and Taylor Jepson of Woodland. She will also be missed by her great- grandchildren, Addilyn and Eamon Powers of Caribou, as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Leola K i n n e , Burnham Haley and Gwendolyn Harmon.

Friends and family called from 6-8pm on Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Lancaster Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover Street, Caribou A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, August 17, at 11am, at Parish of the Precious Blood Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Caribou. A reception followed services; interment was held at the Old Holy Rosary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers and in honor of Doris’s 42 year career in edu- cation and dedication to her students, her family requests that donations may be made in her memory to the Doris and Ernest Chamberlain Scholarship Fund, 1022 New Sweden Road, Woodland, ME 04736.
