CARIBOU, Maine — A local man died Sept. 7, 2015 from injuries he suffered in a motorcycle crash earlier in the day, Caribou police Chief Michael Gahagan said Tuesday.
Colin Campbell, 40, was traveling eastbound on Route 89 when he attempted to pass another motorcycle that was turning left onto the Madawaska Road, Gahagan said.
Campbell lost control of the motorcycle, laying it down on the roadway, the chief said. The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet and was ejected from the bike.
He was taken by Caribou Fire and Ambulance to Cary Medical Center in Caribou where he later died, the chief reported.
Gahagan said the cause of the accident is under investigation by Caribou Officer Timothy Dubois.
