NEW SWEDEN & LONG ISLAND, NY – Lorraine Beatrice Jepson, 92, passed away on September 9, 2015, surrounded by loved ones at the Caribou Nursing Home. She was born July 7, 1923, in New Sweden, thedaughterofHenryand Beatrice (Dahlberg) Anderson.

Other than working and living on Long Island, NY, for a short period of time, she lived in New Sweden her entire life.
Prior to marrying and raising a family, she worked as a book- keeper and secretary for Gordon Robertson of Beaver Brook Farms. She married Kenneth “Bud” Jepson in 1950.
Lorraine was a life time mem- ber of the Gustaf Adolph Lutheran Church, serving at var- ious times on the Church Council, as President of the Lutheran Church Women’s organization (WELCA), and chair of the music and service committees, and the flower committee. She was also a member of the Women’s Home Extension for more than 50 years, and serving as President for many years, a member of both the Cary Memorial and the Cary Medical Hospital Auxiliaries, the New Sweden Historical Society, and the Caribou Garden Club.
Lorraine loved her family, was very proud of her children and grandchildren, and enjoyed the company of many good friends. She especially enjoyed playing bridge, downhill and cross country skiing, gardening, golf and making beautiful wreaths and dried flower arrangements.
Lorraine is survived by two sons, Brent Jepson of New Sweden, and Kurt Jepson and his wife, Lynn of Scarborough; a daughter, Anne Jepson and her husband, Stephen Romanoff of Falmouth; her former daughter-in-law, Ann (Chamberlain) Jepson of Woodland; six grandchildren: Derek Jepson of Caribou, Haley (Jepson) Powers and her hus- band, Brian of Caribou, Arik Jepson and his fiance’, Katie Ouellette of Caribou, Taylor Jepson of Woodland, and Anders and Camden Jepson of Scarborough; two great-grand- children, Addilyn and Eamon Powers of Caribou; and a close friend and companion, Barb Thibodeau.
