Introduction to Art
The center is offering an Introduction to Art class Tuesdays from 9:30-11 a.m. and 6-7:30 p.m. through late December. All ages and skill levels are welcome. This class will cover basic drawing skills, with the potential of covering watercolors, acrylics and other mediums, depending on the desires of those in attendance. Pre-registration is required. The fee is $5.
Take It Outside fall series
The next Take It Outside Series trips are Oct. 18 (day hike to Debouillie), Oct. 20 (Bradford Camps at Munsungan Lake), Oct. 22 (Smith and Wesson and U.S. Border Patrol Station) and Oct. 27 (Amish Village in Smyrna)

CPR/AED and first aid training
The Caribou Recreation and Parks Department will host a CPR/AED First Aid Training Course on Wednesday, Oct. 14 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. The fee is $35 per person. The one-day course will ready participants to be a first responder. The legal considerations of providing care will also be discussed. The deadline to register is Oct. 9 and the class is limited to the first 12 to sign up, so pre-registration is a must..
Winter program registration night
Registration for the winter and spring programs offered by the Caribou Parks and Recreation Department will begin Wednesday, Oct. 21 from 6-8 p.m. at the wellness and recreation center. Program booklets can be viewed on the website caribourec.org and on the department’s Facebook page. Booklets will be distributed to students in school after harvest break and are also available at the recreation center’s main office.
ATV safety course
The recreation department will host an ATV safety course Oct. 9 beginning at 8:30 a.m. The course is for those 10 years of age and older and the fee is $5. Youth ages 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult. The course covers ATV operation, laws, landowner relations, first aid and other related subjects. Bring a bag lunch. Pre-registration is required.
