Cary Briefs (week of 10-7-15)

Healthy Walking

It is not too late to join the Healthy You Walking Club. Anyone can join by visiting carymedicalcenter.org, calling the office of Community Relations at 498-1112, or by visiting the Cary Health Fair on Oct. 17, 2015.

Members receive a free wristband, membership card and a free smartphone app to track walks.  Participants can log miles on the Cary website, and prize drawings will be held each month for the walker with the highest miles.

For more information call 498-1112 or visit carymedicalcenter.org.

Caregivers’ Event

Cary’s annual Caregiver Celebration will be held Friday, Nov. 13, at the Caribou Inn and Convention Center. Anyone who is a caregiver for someone with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementia, or someone who has suffered a stroke or other disabling health issue, is invited.

The event features displays, and Dr. Cliff Singer, a geriatric psychiatrist, will be the keynote speaker.  There will be door prizes, music and a healthy buffet.  The event will begin at 3 pm.

Call the Aroostook Area Agency on Aging to register at 764-3396.
