Cabrera named Job Corps star student

LIMESTONE, Maine — Loring Job Corps Center officials have announced Ilias Cabrera as the Star Student of the Quarter.

Cabrera joined the Loring team from Hartford, Conn., in May, and since his arrival has proven that he is a goal oriented young man with a desire to not only better himself but everyone around him.

Center staff are proud of Cabrera’s accomplishments on and off site. As a leader in The Honor Guard, he has participated in countless hours of community service and represented the entire Job Corps organization in parades, ceremonies and even the color guard at a recent NASCAR race.

He is currently enrolled in the Home Builders Institute Painting Program, where he continues to excel at every level.

“Ilias leads from the front at every opportunity and will truly be an asset to any organization because he can be counted on to get the tasks given in a professional and timely manner,” said officials.

Once finished studies at Loring, Cabrera plans to enter the U.S. Army and continue to serve his country and his community.

He thanked the staff and students at the Loring Job Corps Center for selecting him for this prestigious award and would like everyone to know that each of us has the capability of being successful, and believing in yourself is the first step.
