Mitchell named NorState chair

    MADAWASKA – NorState Federal Credit Union, a full-service financial institution with offices in Madawaska, Van Buren, Ashland, Eagle Lake and Fort Kent, and a branch opening later this year in Presque Isle, is pleased to announce the newly elected Chairman to the Board of Directors, Dr. David A. Mitchell. 

Image     Dr. Mitchell originates from Eastport, Maine and graduated from Eastport High School in 1977. He attended Colby College in Waterville and attained his B.A. in 1981. He was accepted to the New England College of Optometry in Boston and became a Doctor of Optometry in 1986.
    Mitchell established and entered into private practice of optometry, with offices in Fort Kent and Madawaska since 1986.
    He currently serves on the NMMC Board of Trustees; Fort Kent Public Library Board of Directors and is the past president of the Fort Kent Rotary Club. He’s a member of the American Optometric Association and the Maine Optometric Association. He previously served on the Lonesome Pine Ski, the Fort Kent’s Cross-Country Ski Club and other local organizations.
    NorState Federal Credit Union’s CEO, David Rossignol stated, “David brings many years of experience to the board; as a past director, he looks forward to the continued growth and security of our members and credit union. He brings forward innovative ideas and will lead our volunteer board of directors to ensure NorState Federal Credit Union remains focused on delivering the best value and services to its members for generations to come.”
    David’s hobbies include fishing, hiking, photography and he enjoys all types of watercrafts.
