Kids celebrate autumn at library

CARIBOU — Children gathered in the Caribou Public Library to watch Fall movies, have their faces painted, and listen to spooky stories for Caribou Fall Fun Day last Friday.

“We are trying to get kids more involved with library events and encourage literacy,” said Youth Service Librarian Katherine Wilcox-Bosse as she painted a snake on Alexander W. Hale’s arm. “We have lots of different things going on today; we have a movie playing, different hands-on crafts, and books based on Fall. We’re just trying to get children to visit the library and take advantage of the different resources we have to offer like our tablets and after school programs.”

According to Wilcox-Bosse, this is the first time the library has held an autumn-related event for children, but that there are always year-round programs for youngsters and teens.

“We have some something fun for kids to do here every month out of the year,” said Wilcox-Bosse.
