The Caribou Middle School eighth-grade boys’ basketball team used a 4-for-4 effort from the foul line by Alex Bouchard down the stretch to stop Fort Fairfield Thursday, 50-42, in the mutual opener.
The game was hard fought and the lead changed hands several times in the second half before the Vikes prevailed.
Bouchard scored 24 points and Parker Deprey netted 21 for the winners. Cullin Caverhill turned in a strong defensive outing and Jay Belanger, Jake Berkoski and Benoit Levesque all provided solid minutes.
