Fall student-athletes receive awards at CHS

     CARIBOU, Maine — Caribou High School held its fall sports awards night Nov. 9, 2015 with soccer players, golfers and cross country runners all honored for their participation.

     Athletes named most valuable players in their respective sports were: Donovan Savage, varsity golf; Michael Hunter, boys varsity soccer; Maddie Doucette, girls varsity soccer; Chathu Karunasiri, boys varsity cross country; Nick Alfaro, boys JV cross country; Julia Page, girls varsity cross country; Maren Moir, girls JV cross country; Liam McMillon, boys JV soccer; and Danielle Daponte, girls JV soccer.

     Two athletes earned letter sweaters for either accumulating three varsity letters in two different sports or a total of seven varsity letters. The recipients were Doucette and Jenna Boucher.

     Coach Andrew Kirby presented letters to the following members of the girls JV soccer team: Erin Jandreau, Sierra Ouellette, Kara Madore, Jasmine Olson, Danielle Daponte, Olivia Picard, Monica McLaughlin, Abbie Caron, Mariah Mink, Taylor Devoe, Tiahna Cyr, Rachel Soucy, Hollie McDougal, Kaytlin Waldemarson, Crissy Corbin, Alyssa Saucier, Riley McNeal, Cassidy Stevens and managers Jessica Limary and Moriah Connolly.

     Coach Todd Albert presented awards to the following members of the girls varsity soccer team: certificates: Hollie McDougal and Kara Madore; letters: Danielle Daponte, Monica McLaughlin, Amber Moir, Willow Whitten, Alexis Rodriguez, Meagan Dube, Jo Jo Fields, Zoe Gerakaris and Jaelynn Doody; plaques: Danielle Hanson, Camryn Langille, Searra Herbert, Gabrielle Marquis, Hope Shea, Ashley Matlock, Kendra Furber and Kerrigan Manter; and trophies: Maddie Doucette, Eileen Patton, Megan Thornton, Jenna Boucher and Molly Adams.

     Coach Marc Weeks presented awards to the following members of the varsity golf team: certificates: Michael Kashian; letters: Gabe Rand, Bailey Griffeth, Noah Rosado and Stewart Curtis; and jackets: Donovan Savage, Tyler Dombroski, Jordan Bevins and Ricky Sheldon.

     Coach Brandon Caverhill presented letters to the following members of the boys JV soccer team: Liam McMillon, Antwane Gear, Noah Hixon, Carter Moir, Matthew Whitten, Cameron Doody, Alex Hyde, Theo Strid, Wyatt Taggett, Sebastian Marquis, Scott Bray, Ghent Durepo, Zachary Gerakaris and Caleb Trombley.

     Coach Kyle Corrigan presented awards to the following members of the boys varsity soccer team: certificate: Noah Hixon; letters: Andre Rossignol, Brandon Manter, Nic Sleeper, Austin Cheplic, Cole Jackson, Carson Doody, Alex Ezzy, Austin Findlen, Paul Hanson and managers Heaven Melanson and Kate Finnemore; plaques: Noah Frost, Ben Ezzy, Matthew Caron and Richard Newland; trophies: Ethan Plourde and Hunter Milliard; and jacket: Michael Hunter.

     Coach Thomas Beckum presented awards to the following members of the girls cross country team: JV letters: Maren Moir, Olivia Austin, Ashley Violette, Ciara Richards, Sam Fortin and Reagan Michaud; varsity letters: Julia Page, Simone Michaud, Sarae Greenier, Sheridan Blackstone, Maura Freme (service letter), Emily Austin and Anya O’Meara; plaque: Madeline Gudde; and trophy: Emma Belyea.
