CARIBOU — Cathie J. (Getchell) Barthelemy, 62 passed away January 9, 2016 after a brief battle with throat cancer.

Born November 27, 1953, the daughter of Ruth (Norris) Getchell and the late Russell C. Getchell Jr of Caribou. Cathie worked at DFAS Limestone and was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 9389 Ladies Auxiliary. Cathie spent the majority of her adult life raising a family in a military environment, no easy task. She is survived by her husband of 30 years Mark Barthelemy Sr. and three children who she was very proud of. Linda Gover and partner Mike Schlesinger of Caribou, Mark Jr and wife Melissa of Old Town and Melissa Clapper and husband Ronnie of Washburn as well as four grandchildren. Siblings Mary and husband Russell Gagnon of Caribou, Russell (Chipper) Getchell III of Caribou and David Getchell and wife Kathy of Upper Kent N.B. Canada.
In lieu of a formal service, family and friends are invited to a celebration of life event to be held at V.F.W. Post 9389 in Caribou on Saturday from 12-4. A special Thank You to the Caribou Maine Veterans Home staff for the care and dignity that you gave Cathie in her last weeks. You are truly special people doing special things.
