Kenzie Worcester, a freshman guard for the Husson women’s basketball team, was named Co-North Atlantic Conference Player and Rookie of the Week for the week ending Jan. 17, 2016.
It is the third time she has received the rookie honor and second time for the Player of the Week recognition.
Worcester, a 2015 graduate of Washburn District High School, averaged 17.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, two steals, 1.3 blocks and one assist while shooting 54.8 percent (17-of-31) from the floor as the Eagles claimed three conference victories on the week and remain a perfect 8-0 in NAC play.
In an 84-38 win over Thomas, she posted 15 points, three rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block, while shooting 71.4 percent (5-of-7) from the field. The rookie then tallied 17 points, two rebounds, one steal and one block in a 66-47 win over Johnson State. To finish the week, Worcester netted 21 points, gathered eight rebounds, claimed three steals, and blocked a pair of shots, while shooting an impressive 72.7 percent (8-of-11) from the floor as the Eagles earned a 74-61 win over Lyndon.
