CARIBOU – Debra Gover, 63, passed away Friday, January 22, 2016, after a courageous battle against cancer. A native of Maine, she was born April 2, 1952, to Nancy Day (deceased).
She was pre-deceased by her love and husband, Leonard Gover (2011).
Debra had a distinguished career as a Licensed Practicing Nurse, having worked at Cary Medical Center as well as other loca- tions in her 20+ years of nurs- ing. She was known for her love of gardening, crafting and was an excellent baker.
She is survived by her chil- dren and spouses, Tammy Martin and her husband, Dave of Limestone, and Linda L. Gover and partner, Michael Schlesinger of Caribou. She is also survived by her sister, Robin Maher of Virginia; and brothers, Gary and Lance Day of Phoenix, AZ. She leaves behind grandchildren: Jared Patane, and Braydon Martin; and her great-grandchildren, Dakota and Isaah. She was thought of as a second “Mom” by several others over the years. She will always be remembered by several special friends: Linda Pooler, Gary and Velma St. Peter, Pat and Petey Noble and Mickey White.
A Celebration of Life for family and close friends will be held at a later date.
