Job Corps names star student

LIMESTONE, Maine — The Loring Job Corps Center has named Jonathan Cobbs as the Star Student of the Quarter.

Cobbs joined the Loring team from New York City in February 2015, and since his arrival has proven that he is a goal-oriented young man with a desire to not only better himself but everyone around him, Job Corps officials said. They are proud of Cobb’s accomplishments on and off center, and indicated as a leader and mentor, he can be counted on to get the job done with a positive attitude.

Cobbs is currently enrolled in the medical office support trade and also plans to complete the certified nursing assistant program. Once his studies are complete at Loring, he has a goal to attend college and become a registered nurse so he can continue to help others while expanding his medical career.

He said coming to Loring was a huge change from the bright lights of New York City, but worth every minute of it, and expressed thanks to everyone for his nomination and selection as the student of the quarter.

Cobbs said he wants everyone to know “Believing in yourself will move any obstacle.”
