To the editor:
The Central Aroostook Chamber would like to take this opportunity to express our appreciation of the communities that we serve. We recently held our annual Awards Dinner where Dixie Shaw, Donald R. Bouley and Pineland Farms Potato Company were recognized for their contribution to improving the lives of others in the area and beyond.
The evening was not only an opportunity to recognize these outstanding people but also provided an opportunity for the attendees to once again be reminded of the fabulous people that surround us.
The evening is a success because of the work and support of so many. Emera Maine sponsored live music which provided a festive atmosphere to the evening from the start, Dr. Richard (Dick) Graves provided us with photographs through the past 100 years for the tables, PenAir provided round-trip tickets to Boston to the award winners, Amy’s Flowers provided flowers for the tables, the Board of Directors contributed significantly and Presque Isle Inn & Convention Center staff provided a wonderful meal and great service. Matt Gregg, once again, provided auctioneering services which provide entertainment and raise funds for our operations at the same time.
The Annual Awards Dinner would not be the success it is without the support of local businesses, Presque Isle Elks Lodge, Presque Isle Kiwanis Club and Presque Isle Rotary Club. It is a privilege for the Central Aroostook Chamber of Commerce to host this event annually.
We look forward to next year’s celebration and encourage everyone to submit nominations throughout the year for individuals they feel are worthy of recognition. We know we are surrounded by many who strive to improve the lives of others every day with no expectation of recognition.
Thank you to all the area people and businesses who give so freely of their time and talent to make central Aroostook County a wonderful place to live.
