HARTFIELD, NB — Verna B. McElwain, passed away January 28, 2016 at Carleton Manor, Woodstock, NB. Born in 1925 at Hartfield, NB, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Nora (Bradley) Moorcroft.
She is survived by two sons, David McElwain (Karen), Cape Neddick, ME and Robert McElwain (Maia), Sebring, FL; five grandchildren, Amber Bergeron (Erik), Cole McElwain, Mackenzie McElwain, Evan McElwain and Paige McElwain; one great-grandson, Jakob Bergeron; a sister, Eunice Clark (Fred), Campbell Settlement, NB; two brothers, Arwood Moorcroft, Pokiok, NB and Perley Moorcroft (Cora), Dumfries, NB; two sisters-in-law, Myrtle Moorcroft, Upper Queensbury, NB and Marie Moorcroft, Rossville, NB; a brother-in-law, Lynn McElwain (Miriam), Woodstock, NB; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Alton McElwain; three sisters, Helen Ames, Matilda Bragdon and Zella Barrow; three brothers, Johnny, Harry and James Moorcroft.
Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB, Canada on Saturday, February 6, 2016 from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ralph Irving officiating, assisted by Ralph LeBlanc. A reception will follow in the funeral home dining room.
