Titan Challenge
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine —The University of Maine at Presque Isle will host the 10th annual Junior Achievement of Maine Titan Challenge in the Campus Center on Monday, March 14 from 8:15 a.m.-2:45 p.m. Monday, April 11 is the snow date.
The free event brings area high school students together at various locations to compete against their peers across the state on business finance and marketing simulations.
All Maine high schools are invited to participate in this daylong competition. Currently, more than 100 teams are registered, with 23 teams competing locally at UMPI. Three scholarship prizes are awarded and last year, Aroostook County teams received all three of the scholarships.

SAGE hosts kick-off
Seniors Achieving Greater Education (SAGE), a program for adults 50 and older with a desire to learn in the company of people with both shared and different perspectives, will host its spring kick-off event at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 18 in the Campus Center at UMPI.
Membership in SAGE is $17 per semester or $32 for the year. There are additional fees for field trips and some hands-on courses.
Coffee will be served starting at 9:30 a.m. Registration for classes will follow the presentations. FMI, contact Mary Lawrence at 768-9502.
Fit and Fun Day
Local kids are invited to join UMPI’s physical education majors for Fit and Fun Day on Saturday, March 19, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Gentile Hall. Registration is from 9-9:45 a.m.
This event is free for children from kindergarten to fifth grade. There will be many games, jump rope, and the pool and rock wall will be available from 12-1 p.m. Kids should bring their own swimsuit and towel, and a snack if they want one.
Parental supervision is needed for kids using the pool and parents will need to sign a release form in order for their children to use the pool and rock wall. Forms will be provided during registration.
