Maggie Damboise Saucier, left, is congratulated by Loring Job Corps Center Director Kristie Moir after being chosen as Staff Member of the Month.

Saucier joined the Loring team in April 2015 and serves as the assistant data integrity and student records specialist.

She joined the team because she wanted to get involved in the lives of students and ensure they reach their full potential prior to and after graduation.

When asked how she felt after receiving the award, Saucier said she felt extremely happy and honored, because she feels very passionate towards the success of the students. Being a former student herself, she understands the hopes and fears of every student as they live, work and train on center.

She graduated from the Loring center in 2009 as a medical office support specialist and then attended college to further her abilities in management. Looking back, she said, her decision to go to Job Corps was one of the best decisions she ever made. Not only did it provide her the opportunity to receive job training, it also opened her eyes to new cultures, diversities and the ability to get involved and help other reach their full potential.

As the records specialist, Saucier is usually the first person new students speak to even prior to arriving on center, and her ability to relate personally with each student and not just relay information has established her as a mentor to students as they transition from their home to center life, Job Corps officials said.

Saucier uses her prior experience as a student to ensure new students not only are welcomed, but also know they can come to her for motivation. She joins other former students Joey Cain, Brecke Monaghan, Panise Burns and Jennifer Miclette, who also serve as staff on center.
