13-15 baseball league registration deadline nears

     The Northern Maine baseball league begins soon and those in the 13-15 age bracket can now register. Youth must be 13 by May 1, 2016 and not reach age 16 before May 1, 2016 to qualify.

     Forms are available at the wellness and recreation center and can also be found on the website caribourec.org. The fee is $25. First-year players must provide a copy of their birth certificates along with their completed application form. The deadline to register is Friday, June 3 and late registrations will not be accepted.

Summer/fall program registration

     Registration for summer and fall programs will be held Wednesday, June 8 from 6-8 p.m. for residents only and on Thursday, June 9 from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. for both residents and non-residents. This takes place at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center.

     The summer program booklet can be viewed online at caribourec.org and is also available on the department’s Facebook page.The paper booklets have also been dispersed to the Caribou elementary schools and the middle school.

Recreation center hours

     Hours at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center are Monday through Friday from 6 a.m.-6 p.m. The facility is closed Saturdays and Sundays.

CRX registration

     Registrations are now being accepted for the summer CRX program, which is an outdoor recreation program for youth in grades 5-11. Kayaking, canoeing the Allagash, climbing Mt. Katahdin, backpacking in Baxter State Park and mountain biking are   among the programs being offered.
