WOODLAND, Maine — Two people were injured Thursday afternoon when a 32-year-old Woodland man allegedly attacked a woman and she stabbed him in self-defense, according to police.
The Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office received a “frantic” 911 call from a woman reporting she had just been assaulted by her boyfriend, Sheriff Darrell Crandall said in a statement issued Friday. The BDN is not identifying the woman because she is considered the victim of possible domestic violence.
Frost subsequently left the home with a relative to seek medical treatment. Crandall said the woman told police that during the assault, which occurred at the home they shared, she stabbed her boyfriend, Timothy Frost, in self-defense.
Several sheriff’s deputies went to the home while others found and spoke to Frost.
Crandall said the woman, who told police she was pregnant, was taken to Cary Medical Center in Caribou for medical evaluation and later released.
Frost also was treated and released from the Caribou hospital and then arrested on a domestic assault charge and taken to the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton.
Frost has a criminal history, which includes a 2003 federal conviction for robbery, using and carrying a firearm in the commission of a crime and possession of a stolen firearm.
Frost was arraigned in Fort Kent District Court Friday when bail was set at $5,000 cash or $20,000 surety.
