CASWELL & LIMESTONE — Claudette J. Roy, 70, died peacefully Thursday, June 9, 2016, with her loving family at her side. She was born December 26, 1945 in Lille, a daughter of the late Milford and Jeanne (Gendreau) Marquis.

Claudette, a lifelong hairdresser and beautician, proudly owned and operated Claudette’s Beauty Salon for over 40 years. She enjoyed quilting in her limited spare time and loved to share her crafts with her loving family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling with her sisters for their trips to Perth-Andover, and never turned down an evening home around the kitchen table for a few rounds of Bunco. Claudette was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church and was the longest standing school board member in Maine with Dawn F. Barnes Elementary School, Caswell.
She is survived by: her husband of almost 50 years, Clayton J. Roy of Caswell; two daughters, Deana Williams and her husband Jerry and Cindy Lou Butler and her husband Robert, all of Limestone; four grandchildren, Bret, Mariah, Taylor and Adam; nine siblings, Daniel Marquis and his wife Lillian of Wells, Raymond Marquis and his wife Judy of Van Buren, Ruth Parent and her husband Gilbert of Caswell, Jackie Marquis of Wilmington, NC, Janice Gosselin and her husband Kenneth of W. Simsbury, CT, Helen St. Pierre and her husband Paul of Caswell, Robert Marquis and his wife Anne of Garland, Peter Marquis and his fiancée Becky of Phoenix, AZ, and James Marquis of Acton; many special in-laws; and nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Claudette is predeceased by a sister, Diane Roy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hamlin Rd., Hamlin. Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family Saturday morning, 8:30 – 9:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow in St. Louis Cemetery, Limestone.
