Local auto dealer donates equipment to Caribou Little League

In the spirit of community collaboration and teamwork taught through youth sports, Carroll’s Auto Sales of Presque Isle is supporting the Caribou Little League.

This sponsorship, through the Chevy Youth Baseball Program, will include both monetary and equipment donations during the 2016 baseball season.

Chevy Youth Baseball is a grassroots initiative that establishes a positive relationship between local dealers and the communities they serve. Carroll’s is serving as a sponsor as a part of Chevrolet’s nationwide commitment to support youth sports, one community at a time.

Over the course of the season, the dealership will donate equipment to the league which include coach’s kits, break-away bases, first aid kits and practice balls.

Also, youth baseball participants will have a chance to attend a clinic featuring local professional baseball coaches.

Gary Marquis is the head groundskeeper for the Caribou Little League and said the donation is huge for the grassroots organization which involves approximately 125 youths.

“We were approached by Carroll’s in the spring and it came right out of the blue,” Marquis said. “Every little bit helps so when it comes to free equipment, we’ll take it.”

Kirk Carroll of Carroll’s Auto Sales was glad his organization is able to help out the local Little League program.

“We are looking forward to a great season with Caribou Little League that will be filled with exciting games and an enhanced experience for the teams through the equipment and cash donations,” Carroll said. “Chevy Youth Baseball is just one example of how committed our dealership is to supporting the youth and families in our community.”
