CARIBOU, Maine — Cary Medical Center’s Healthy You program, in partnership with Townsquare Media and other local sponsors, has announced the launch of their 100 Miles in 100 Days Healthy You Fitness Challenge.
Cary wants to improve the health of the communities they serve in alignment with the hospital’s vision, “We aspire to create a healthier community.” Because of the many benefits associated with walking, the hospital encourages people to incorporate a daily walk into their lifestyle.
The 100 Miles in 100 Days challenge began July 25, and participants have until Tuesday, Nov. 1, to walk and log 100 miles. Anyone can register at any time before Oct. 1, and the first 100 people to register will receive a free T-shirt, pedometer and wrist band. Those who register by Aug. 20 will also have the chance to win two tickets to the Rascal Flatts/Kelsea Ballerini Concert on Sept. 4 at the Darling’s Waterfront Pavilion in Bangor.
Additional prizes will be awarded throughout the 100 days to registered participants who log their mileage every month. Those participants who complete and log 100 miles by Nov. 1 will be eligible for the grand prize drawing for a $500 Walmart Gift Card.
Participants can register and record their miles by calling Judy Holmquist at 498-1112, or sending an email to jholmquist@carymed.org.
