CARIBOU, Maine — Jessica McNeal of Caribou turned herself in Monday afternoon after allegedly being involved in an armed robbery at Mike’s Quik Stop & Deli on Presque Isle Road.

An individual from the store called the Caribou Police Department at 11:02 a.m. Monday to report that a woman had run out of the store with an undisclosed amount of money.

Investigators were able to identify the 20-year-old McNeal from eye witness accounts and evidence gathered at the scene before she turned herself in, according to Laura Adams, an administrative assistant with the Caribou police. A weapon was found in the vicinity of the store, Adams said in a press release issued late Monday afternoon.

The release did not specify what kind of weapon or provide other details about the robbery.

McNeal was alone when she left in a silver Nissan Maxima with Georgia plates, police reported.

McNeal turned herself in and was arrested and charged with Class A robbery as well as theft and forgery for another unrelated incident, according to Caribou police. Class A felonies are punishable by up to 30 years in prison. No information was provided concerning the additional charges.
