NEW SWEDEN: The New Sweden Historical Society Museum is open Monday through Friday, 12-4 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 1-4 p.m. Gift shop open Friday and Saturday 12-4.

Thursday, Aug. 25

CARIBOU: The summer’s final Thursdays on Sweden: Disco night with Motor Booty Affair, 6-9 p.m.

VAN BUREN: NARFE, National Active and Retired Federal Employees of Aroostook County, will hold their annual picnic at the American Legion in Van Buren at 11:30. FMI: 498-3406.

Saturday, Aug. 27

CARIBOU: “Grandma’s Kitchen” display at Caribou Historical Center and Museum, Saturdays 12-4 p.m. through August. All are welcome to investigate and enjoy.

LIMESTONE: Annual picnic/barbecue, Limestone Caswell Historical Society, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Cost is $8/adults, $5/children under 12.

PRESQUE ISLE: Maine Friends of the U.S. Constitution presentation to discuss why the U.S. should get out of the United Nations, Governor’s Restaurant, 9 a.m. Free admission; donations accepted. Speaker: Hal Shurtleff of Camp Constitution.

PRESQUE ISLE: Fourth annual Color Presque Isle 5K at 9 a.m., starting at Riverside Park. Registration 8 a.m. Fee: $40; children under 10 free. Register at umpi.edu/colorpresqueisle5k, or at Wintergreen Arts Center.
