CARIBOU — Anyone in Caribou on September 10th can experience fireworks, live music, antique vehicles, and an open house at the Nylander Museum as part of Caribou’s Heritage Day.

Taking place all day, from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., the event will provide an opportunity for fun and entertainment as well as historical education.

A number of antique cars and tractors will be on display at the downtown mall from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at which point attendees can drive to the Nylander Museum’s open house on 657 Main Street and view a number of relics from the city’s past.

A variety of food vendors will be set up at the High School while the Rock Dox play from 6 to 8:30 p.m., at which point the event will be capped off by fireworks at the same location.

“People coming can expect to have a lot of fun,” said Lydia Kieffer, Caribou’s marketing and events coordinator. “The antique car and tractor show usually draws a big crowd, and ‘Guns and Hoses’ will be serving food at the High School later in the evening.”

According to Kieffer, planning for Heritage Day is very much a group effort.

“The department heads always come together to plan the event,” Kieffer said. “It’s a group effort and everyone brings their ideas to the table.”
