Students on UMF dean’s list

FARMINGTON — The University of Maine at Farmington recognized dean’s list students for the spring semester. The following students from the local area were included.

From Caribou: Tiffany Bishop and Cheyenne Judkins.

From Fort Fairfield: Carter Shaw.

Farmstand now in operation

NEW SWEDEN — After a successful first season in 2015, the Northstar Variety store in New Sweden continues to host a low-cost farmstand. Visitors can buy produce using either cash or EBT.

The farmstand is open from 2-6 p.m. each Wednesday through Sept. 14. 

It will feature produce that the Good Shepherd Food Bank purchases at a fair price, primarily from Rankin Rapids in St. Francis. Low-cost sales are made possible through support from the Mainers Feeding Mainers program.

 

Northstar Variety is located at 204 New Sweden Road.

 

Book club this afternoon

 

LIMESTONE — The Robert A. Frost Memorial Library’s book club will meet at 1 p.m. today, Wednesday, Sept. 14. September’s book is “The Invention of Wings” by Sue Monk Kidd. The group will also discuss book selections. For information call 325-4706.
