LIMESTONE, Maine — During a Sept. 7, 2016 budget meeting, the voters of Limestone authorized RSU 39 to expend $25,000 from the Limestone Reserve Fund, which will result in a reduced tax assessment for the town during the 2016-17 fiscal year.
People attending the meeting elected Patrick St. Peter as moderator, and he asked the town’s residents if they accepted the decision. After the audience moved and seconded the item, one resident asked about the current balance of the account.
“It’s about $537,000,” said RSU 39 Superintendent Tim Doak, and added that the account is also drawing interest.
The voters agreed to accept the motion, and the meeting adjourned just under five minutes after it began.
